Biography: Meghan Thomas

Dr Meghan Thomas is a developmental neurobiologist who joined the Surgical NeuroDiscovery Group in 2009.  Dr Thomas received her PhD from the School of Animal Biology, University of Western Australia. She is director of the Parkinson's Centre at Edith Cowan University (ECU), holds an Australian Research Council Discovery Grant for stem cell research in a model of Parkinson's disease, and adjunct postdoctoral fellow in the School of Animal Biology, University of Western Australia. Her research interests include the role of transcription factors such as the Pax genes and stem cell biology in Parkinson's disease. Meghan also collaborates with exercise physiologists, neurologists, and psychologists at ECU in studying the effects of exercise in Parkinson's disease.
